Lift up your heads - Your redemption draws nigh

Clear signs abound that the return of the Lord Jesus Christ is very near. The world is reeling with crisis upon crisis - "a time of trouble such as never was" - Daniel 12. This is the time when "He who is like El" will stand up and the resurrection of the dead will take place. Events in Ukraine are leading to unprecedented consequences, food shortages are threatening many countries, energy supplies are failing, and with sharply rising inflation a huge financial crisis looms, possibly before the end of the year. But for those who wholly trust in God and His prophetic Word in the Bible, these are times when we can lift up our heads. These are the circumstances predicted by Jesus himself in passages such as Luke 21, world events which herald his glorious return to judge the world in righteousness (Acts 17:31), and bring in everlasting peace.
